A moment of diminished congestion
News from New York City: the world did not end, last evening. The sudden absence of automobile traffic on (all) city streets turns out to be a wrinkle in the fabric of the universe.
Seriously, for a city that could serve as the poster child for congestion, it must have appeared… no, it didn’t appear, because people weren’t on the streets. Bad weather. I hope that some of the footage from the CC cameras will go public, to let folk see what life could be like if other folk didn’t insist on two-tonne exoskeletons.
I bought more light bulbs this afternoon. A different model in the price range I’m favouring for LCD units. Similar lumen output to my other acquisition, but “warmer” in colour temperature. I’ll give the other members of the household some time to enjoy (one or the other) before purchasing a carton full. Stocking up.
Another iOS upgrade this evening. I simply applied the blob; no way to benchmark things when the rollback seems impossible. Here’s hoping that life just improved a little.
My laptop also needs to update, but the swapping in another hard drive is just too much work, right now. I will be ready when Windows Ten is finally available.
Odd warning in the newspaper: Make sure that the moving van is fumigated regularly against the bedbug invasion. Huh? Not sure how well the question might be received by those who will have ALL my belongings in their care. Might be easier to find some DDT and just do the treatment at home, out of public view, should we ever pick up such passengers.
