Watching the snow reviews

posted in economy |

Watching the snow reviews from elsewhere, and it’s clear that when it comes to clearing the stuff away, there are really only two options: a shovel or patience. Since most of us can’t wait for summer…

Mind you, that berm behind the car is nothing more than an aggravation. If we really needed to go somewhere, the big tires and slow low gear ratio would probably get us out and going.

My real interest in storm tales comes from a personal interest in “road closed by authorities due to ice and zero visibility”; over the last couple of days, the possibility of a road trip was nil. No back road alternatives.  All you can do is wait, because there is no way to shovel a path alonga major  highway.

And the contractor didn’t call. Of course. I really wonder what is taking so long to complete. Has the winter really been that tough?

The real estate industry has finally started to “clue in”; many potential buyers are doing their own leg work. And certain agents are rewarding the buyer by rebating part of the earned commissions. I’m unclear about how the whole thing works, but if there is a parallel system for sellers, I want in. That “five per cent Remax Tax” is dissuasive. Maybe there’s a place for those self-sell-sites, after all.

That’s still ahead. No listing the house I’m in until I’m in another one; a simple rule of thumb to live by. Although, if someone knocks at the door, I’ll reconsider the principle. Seriously. Try me.
