Double up on the snow shovels
Paying attention to “the probs” for one part of the continent requires effort. Now, try doing it for two separate areas. That’s my situation. What if we get a snow storm here? Or there? Or in between, in case a road trip gets added to “the sked”. My life, doubly complicated.
When mention was made, earlier, that we should go and buy some new snow shovels, it made sense. Snow falls. The second part, that we should buy one to put in the car, so we could clear the other driveway; that put things in a new perspective. This will be one of the more complicated winters in recent memory. And spring will bring another whole complication to our lives – mud season.
Meanwhile, the method for closing and moving my weather station remains as a “to be solved puzzle”. Certain parts are fragile. No chucking stuff into an empty box and waiting for disaster. As well, the associated website is still online. What’s a good cutoff date?
And what about the price of crude, huh? With no active interest in the madness of the petroleum producers, it’s still difficult to avoid hearing about their every hiccup and fart (quick, capture the methane!). Oil prices have “plummeted” this year, and the economies of too many nations are wobbling in the gooey residue. While I like to pay (relatively) less to fill up, I feel the pain of certain local governments. Not enough money to grease (sic) the wheels of state, particularly in Ottawa and Edmonton. And the ads for the pipeline mentality are omnipresent.
