On top and on time
Intentions do change into facts; we now own two more shovels. On a quiet evening, the real difficulty was deciphering prices in the pertinent section. Should have borrowed a flashlight. At the checkout, I tend to depend on the magic of my debit card to smooth out doubts.
Anyhow, if we catch the edge of either front, we’re mentally prepared. As in, I’ll hound son #3 until he tires of my attention and heads out for some clearing activity. One of the perks of parenting, I guess. He’s less sure.
Someone spotted two truckloads of house heading up east this morning, so I was prepared, but the message filling my inbox just before supper was a “culmination”. A real house, lacking a garage and some cosmetic touches is astride the foundation. The picture looked a lot like the artist’s mockup that we’ve had around since the middle of the summer (also reassuring). And based on my own experience, a house usually stays put, once the lag bolts are tightened.
A family member pointed out that few in our circle have managed two new homes in one lifetime… Who cares what it costs, right? Now to reduce my total number of simultaneous homes to something reasonable.
I’ve been “fleshing out” someone’s family tree over the last couple of evenings. There’s satisfaction in starting with a name and a district, and pulling those virtual threads until something logical and complete is there, done. Ready to share. And unlike so many other hobby areas, genealogy is never “done”. Best kind of puzzle.
