Sleep on one side

posted in economy, health |

Everything is circumstantial until the cutting begins, but my operation moved a large step closer to real this morning. The sticky electrode terminals took longer to place and remove than my actual EKG. All part of the “prove the patient was alive when they started” process.

A recap. We arrive on time at the hospital, and only had to circle the parking area a couple of times. What’s with the inflow greater than outflow traffic model? Doesn’t work for any other closed vessel…

Anyhow, the lineup inside was short, and my processing was without detail. Then, off through the maze to find the “real” destination; two nurses to question, measure my collar size (??) and check blood pressure. Lots of warnings: your two trabs were nothing compared to replacing the cornea… You won’t be able to lift anything interesting for a month… A long car trip? Leave the heat off… Learn to sleep on one side, only (??)

I’ll figure it out, or incur the wrath of she who cares.

A short break for bloodletting, and we were “outta there”.

Still shopping for an appliance deal; more hands-on at a major box store, and an impulse visit to (yet) another dealer. Finally had an opportunity to check out the expensive stuff (meaning you, Thermador) and receive an interesting price quote. Substantial price drop, if we sign by Saturday. Delivery, not so much. Seriously. The trucking firms don’t do long hauls for the minor players (me). I asked my #1 choice on the Island to look for a better deal, and confirmed that he would warehouse whatever until the house is ready.
