A mental packer

posted in economy, pets |

Today, being the national holiday of Labour Day, there’s a certain irony that I get do as little as possible. Everything of any size is closed (in the retail domain). Food depends on what we have on hand; pasta will replace potatoes, come supper time.

My eye was an irritant, for most of the morning. Saline and salve; gets me through. I’ll bed down early.

Trying to do some mental packing. That’s where the boxes in the basement will be repacked with valuable material and in a personal version of “musical chairs”, other articles will be voted off the island. Or not to go to the Island. No musical instruments will be eliminated, by (their) virtue.

Son #1 stopped by for a simple supper and parental pitch. Why not consider a future as landowner (or flipper, as he would like). I’d like to make an “offer he couldn’t refuse”, but there has to be some rationality in the affair. At least a timeline has been presented; my own way of avoiding the clutches of a greedy realtor.

Found a useless app, today. A collection of camera manuals. Sort of; the app offers a list with an option to buy… The same manuals are available for free download from the manufacturer. In context, the app isn’t even convenient. Trying to imagine what sort of mindset the programmer possesses.

My dog is not a sight hound. Watching the arrival of “the other dog”, our fur all went from growl to bark to joyous howl as his visitor approached the door.
