My life needs a banana box

posted in economy |

Found myself going through a gallery of snowstorm photos and wondering if my mental state is deteriorating rapidly. Come on! There’s at least a month and a half before that becomes a consideration. So Canadian!

I actually missed the various periods of heavy rain today. Left me wondering why my pant leg had a wet mark… Until I unpacked one seriously damaged banana from the pack sack. Not how I wanted to begin the day (or diminish my lunch). That stupid yellow plastic box that I spotted in the dollar store seems like a wise investment. Of course, the real fun was discretely wiping down everything that had been banana-bombed.

An odd day of shopping. There’s a custom, in my office, where those with a long period of service (think quarter-century) receive a gift. Of their own choosing. With reimbursement as the preferred manner of disbursement. I presented my paperwork, somewhat chagrined, only to be told that I have to do more. There’s an equivalent custom for those about to retire. Next paragraph on the memorandum. Not done yet.

Back to the ‘net, to find something else and place my order. Then, submit my paperwork (see the earlier paragraph). Doubly blessed.

Trying to keep my cubicle clean. Other than refusing to accept an incoming boxes, I’m baffled how I can maintain the empty status for three more weeks. A challenge. I hope the new hires are paying attention and learning from my effort. If I make it to the end, I’ll post a pic. For posterity.
