The eye shrunk

posted in environment |

The camping kitchen gear has been washed and stowed for another season. The same gear that we drag along each summer, carefully place beside the picnic table and ignore, while we head on over to the restaurant of the day. A certain irony in this.

And in a fit of resourcefulness, I sewed the seams of the little nylon bag that holds our coolest. The eye of the needle shrunk since my last time, and the thread lacked the “pointy” feature that used to make threading a simple task. As well, my stitches don’t reach the way they used to… Hours of fun. To my credit, I didn’t resort to staples, contact cement or tape to effect the repair.

Watched a fairly good football game, CFL variety. Stayed close until the final minute and there was nothing lopsided about the matchup. That’s good. College football (local) starts yesterday, with a pre-season game. Dinos lost. Guess I missed that one. Have to get my game on (the TV or the radio or twitter).

Not much else going on. The others are “down south” for the day, leaving me in charge of letting the dog out and in and out and in. No rest with that enthusiastic game on. I opted for loads and loads of laundry.

My posting of old aerial photos (of the campground) have been well received by those concerned. Now if I could arrange something modern; a streaming cam feed of the hummingbird feeder, or the coming and going of the tides. Something to think about.
