Missed the eclipse

posted in computing, genealogy |

I read somewhere that one should not criticize unless one can do better. I don’t suffer advice. After watching two new shows this evening, with comedy veterans Michael J. Fox and Sean Hayes, I’ll cut to the chase. I am critical, and I won’t suffer either program. There has to be something else to do before sleeping on the weekend.

I’ve successfully completed yesterday’s effort. The weather computer is running just fine, and son #3 has an extra hard drive in his nest of wires. So many unterminated cables in his new computer. An invitation to upgrade until the elephant in the room gets noticed.

I just missed a partial lunar eclipse. That’s underwhelming. Right now, the albedo is overpowering. A little shadow might be an improvement.

The Senate snafu just goes on and on. In retort to an announcement about suspending two of the more flagrant spenders, one has requested medical leave and the other intends to sue. No shame showing in either case. In the real world, if you steal and get caught, you (ususally) go to jail. In the Brave New World of the larcenous politician, you get to sue because you feel insulted. Not the way I was taught to act. I’m also not a politician, nor have I been approached to fill one of the seats in contention.

About the only thing I did today that had me hopeful was a huge edit on my active GEDCOM. After importing the data set back into the software, I can’t find my changes. Is the problem one of procedure, or am I doomed to live with titles embedded in the “first name” field?
