Slackfoot and slippers
Early this morning, I learned that a dog can get rid of a pair of makeshift slippers much faster than I can put them in place. Might be the lack of a well defined heel, or an expertise in “slackfooting”, but when the task was done, I was the one outside picking them up. In the new fallen snow. Telling him that the slippers (actually, tough plastic bags) were for his own good was wasted effort.
Another day of waiting for springtime. Not that I have any real goal, bu
it seems like a proper sentiment.
Working through another Clancy novel, and I appreciate his ability to juggle multiple storylines with an end in view. That might be something to strive for, if ever I get into the writing thing, for real. After the autobiography, where I’m not supposed to be able to write the ending, and where the multiple storylines will mean that I’ve turned the big light on others. My own storyline has been pretty one-dimensional, in retrospect. Not that I want you to avoid reading the tome, should I ever get it started/finished.
Thank you to the varied Island restaurants who have taken the time to post thirty-one different burger recipes online, complete with video instructions. I can probably handle the “two slices with fillings” basic principle, but there has to be more to a successful homemade effort than lettuce, tomato and some coloured sauces. The PEI Burger-Love has that as its goal. What with being too far away to drop down during the campaign, I’ll have to hope that they remember “how” when I do get there.
