New foods and high heat

posted in environment, food |

After some careful research, I now understand the billing model for satellite radio. Simple, really. Charge as much as you can, for as long as you can.

I don’t spend much time in a car. The radio is there, but I don’t have any solid loyalty. And so when the “new car” came with access to Sirius, I agreed that a subscription was a good idea. Then, I learned that the RV also was sat-radio capable, and knowing the how (as in how much) became important. I figured out the ID code for the actual receiver, and did some calculations. If we were in the car (or van) for several hours a day, it might be a nice feature. When riding comes down to a few hours a month, one has to ask just how much it costs. It won’t be my decision (I’m a passenger), but the details are available for any further discussion.

And the A/C works. It’s important to test such details. So, I did.

A new local restaurant opened, today. Operated by a cousin. Just down the road. We are now officially “day one customers”.

New weather report just in from Lytton, BC. The extreme temperatures spawned extreme fires; many of the homes are now charred memories. So fast! I saw a tweet that has to be noted: this will be the last time we have easy summer weather. It’s all uphill from here, and we now need to consider our strategies for life in a zone where temperate is a memory. Oh, perhaps not “here”, but this country has a small population, and we know our neighbours.
