Determined to go. Somewhere. Anywhere.
If I had one word to give the people at Apple, it would be “incrementalize”. No need to be precise in mmy definition; I’ll use the anecdote to make my point.
First of all, my internet is slow. Apparently not capped, but that tiny straw takes a long time to draw up a mouthful of data. Anyhow, I also live in a home with multiple products from the Apple people, and this morning, I learned that an OS upgrade was available. A minimum of 1.5 GB in size. Times four. You can do the math, while I wait for my machines to complete the process. As one game manufacturer used to brag, back in the 60s, “hours of fun for the whole family”. I have no idea about the details, but when the process is done, I’ll have downloaded the equivalent of more than seven CDs full of data. Remember the CD?
No matter. I’m sure that all of the gadgets are going to work much .I fully believe that winter is over, and that the health of the nation will be maintained. And if not, we can do a stay-at-home-and-camp-in-the-driveway game. Tell stories around a local campfire. Make s’mores (never done that, but I’m willing to learn new skills). Convince ourselves that this how we wanted to spend our senio years (I isn’t). Send postcards, maybe. I still have those free ones that we got from the federal government. Watch some movies on the TV screen. Pretend that all is well. Wave at passersby (that won’t happen). You can sense my need to get out of quarantine, ASAP.
