More sun power

posted in technology, travel |

Although I can’t rationalize the cost, I’d love to upgrade the solar system (not THE solar system) on the RV. The house battery charging system, to cut the confusion. Right now, there is a single panel on the coach roof, and it helps, a little. After a demonstration from a fellow traveler in a park last summer, it is possible to go for something “stronger”. More panels, better monitor systems, eventually better batteries. LiFePO4, if you’re curious. My home efforts are part of the personal education required, although I’d want to have any upgrades done by someone with pertinent experience.

It’s hard to accept that July will be over before we ever do something “fun”. With the dog on bedrest, and the mess about tourism in a pandemic, we’ve not even looked at a map.

I did make bread today, and apparently the diminished return (loaf size) might be weather related. This falls into the sort of knowledge every home maker would have been able to quote, a generation ago. Now, I’m keeping (mental) notes, but the bread making remains a means to a (tasty) goal.

The province is trying to sort out our latest uptick in COVID infections. Contact tracing, mainly. We know the who and the why, without ever releasing a name. Someone locally wrote a seething editorial that pointed out how we have this “tunnel” which runs from the bridge to our ferry terminal. Supposed to keep the people from away out of our stores and restaurants. Failing, generally; we’re too afraid to offend. I hope that our friendly nature doesn’t lead to my local grocery stores being forced to lock their doors, if the wrong person stops in.
