Beyond my castle walls? Why?

posted in environment, music |

Another afternoon in the house. Which, just before supper, brought the probing question: Was I suffering from agoraphobia?

No. At least, I don’t think so. I did spend a long time in the middle of our lawn last evening, staring hopefully into the skies (seeking the Star Train). And, no, I didn’t see it, but with all the weird artifacts in my vision, that can’t be taken as quantitive. But, am I afraid of the big, outside world, the one beyond my doors?

Again, no. At least, I don’t think so. There’s really no place I would rather be right now (than right here). And, things aren’t so wonderful in the outside world right now. Being content with my life and my junk is a plus. We’ll see how this plays out.

However, I am starting to wonder if my reluctance to go for a long bike ride might be the result of troubled vision.

Enough with the troubled thoughts, for now. I made another batch of bread, and it was  (again) wonderful. This is not the time to start varying my recipe, when the one I use is perfectly suited to my needs (and tastes). If the yeast shortage suddenly gets personal, I might have to vary the formula.

The last couple of days I’ve been tuned into some classic rock playlists from a station in Miami. No song IDs are given, but Shazam has my back. The music is good; just as good as the first time around (when I was just a lad, taking my first steps in that big, outside world).
