Describe the moment
When I read the texts from others, I tend to notice the verbosity; all those hours in grammar class learning about adjectives and adverbs was supposed to push us to improving our powers of description. So, just for fun, I’m going to try and increase my effort.
Our dog (we have one, no more) is actually useful as a visitor alarm. Thanks to him, I don’t have to spend the day watching out the window, waiting for the extraordinary. Today, the Purolator van arrived, and before the parcel had been dropped beside our car, we knew about the visitor. In this period of social separation, we were fine with the delivery being lackadaisical. A simple nod and a wave, and the van was off to other points.
My parcel, as such, came in a long, brown cylinder. I had been expecting a delivery, without knowing the date and time, so I simply set it beside my chair and went on with the day. No need to open things up. I’ll wait for part two of my order. But, I did bring the tube downstairs.
After all, going to the basement allows me to take care of other things. For example, a restart on the wireless router; it seems to help, and all I had to do was to push the switch located on the wall near the electrical panel. The weather computer required a restart, from other software updates, and I also used the occasion to check water levels in the sump hole. All was well, and so I called the dog (who was wandering around while I worked) to come back upstairs.
