Postponed measurements
So much for Saturday; the blowing snow brought an early cancellation to my late afternoon working session with the local community group. We were supposed to go down to the end of the road and take some measurements in the old fog horn building. That will have to wait. To be fair, I had the shortest distance to travel, and we aren’t actually planning to reactivate the noise maker. I’ll put this down to an early onset of seasonal weather, with a strong outlook of green fields in the next few days.
It didn’t stop our contractor getting through; the downstairs area moved one step closer to completion. I really should be recording the steps, but since this is not on my list of things to ever do again, what would it mean? Who wants to see photos of half-painted walls, or wiring just about all pulled into place? I thought so. Much better to record the amazing things around me. I’ll keep watching.
When my parents told me to “eat my beans”, maybe they didn’t refer to jellies. No matter. I’m ready to tear open another bagful, as a shout out to odd nutrition everywhere.
Right now, we’re beginning the marathon of seasonal movies. I mean, I’m not, but I’m part of the audience, without argument. Familiar tunes in the soundtracks, the chance of spotting a Grinch, a long train trip (yes, there’s even a movie based on people spending too long in coach seats). I did that sort of thing, back in the day. Not any more… the tracks were pulled up, and ghost trains don’t take passengers.
