Post surgery tests
With the temperature up to 20C, this afternoon, it’s time to note that the seasons are not like they used to be. Many of us are old enough to realize that, but for the younger members of the community, take note: November at 20C used to be reserved to the living space in front of the fireplace.
I lead a very vicarious existence. Lately, lots of chatter about how we’ll all be driving electric cars and replacing the shingles with solar panels. Could be, if the economy improves. For now, let me mention that we are a two bicycle family. One relies on standard bioenergy; as generated by the occasional hamburger. The other is new tech: EV. Not exactly Tesla, but close. A technically advanced battery pack and some very efficient motors. Today, we made the trip to the city to bring the bike back home. A successful transplant had been performed in the nearest bike surgery. After a short field test, all has been declared as “working great”. I’d say, wait until next spring to be certain, but with the unseasonal heat, the electric bike might get some road time before snow sets in.
And yes, they’re having winter elsewhere. Like in the town where I attended high school, and near the city where I spent half of my life. Here, not yet. But I understand the risks, and I fully expect to need my mittens before much longer.
The mail brought my order of RF chokes. I now have an antenna feedline with a fix for rabid currents (I think). Still need to run some tests, but the mag loop project is moving forward.
