An experienced rewatch
Our time on the road, last spring, gave me a whole new set of experiences to draw from. That’s why, re-watching the movie The Leisure Seeker, I had so much better an understanding of some of the situations the couple found themselves in. Not the exact situations; more of a sense about what life on the road is like. I enjoyed the movie more, this second time through.
Downstairs, our first of two windows now has sills and trim. Not my effort, but having done something similar (and taken much longer) I really appreciate the effort going into this job. As well, things look better. More akin to a finished basement, if you will. Try to imagine my glee when we finally open the vanes on a new shower (and don’t have to mop the floor as a result).
After days of mental math, I finally got out the knife, and pliers, and soldering iron. The main loop for my intended antenna now has proper connectors, and if I can get the capacitor into a box, my testing phase can begin. Not this coming week, but during October, for sure. I could have simply ordered a similar affair from the States, at a ridiculous price; doing it this way is much more valuable. If something breaks, I’ll be able to repair it (within reason). That’s what separates the amateur from the pro. No pay, lots of play. The end result should be good enough to fool the untrained eye. I’ll test it on others, just because I can.
Beyond that, it’s the weekend. The massive student demonstrations for climate change awareness took place today, and I hope that the greedy were listening.
