Akin to a candy store
We didn’t hesitate, this morning. Certain campgrounds are equipped with negative karma; this one had a whole booklet to list their rules. I didn’t infringe on their desire to have social control. Come morning, after a coffee, we pulled our plug and got set for the great metropolitan avoidance.
The “ring road” around Boston took time. Couple that with substantial traffic, rain and heavy misting meant that we will come away with no idea about how wonderful the city might be. Another trip will provide an opportunity. Our eyes (my eyes, at least) were on the map, and the best approach to Salem. No, not the witchy one; the next state over. I wanted to shop at a nearby amateur radio dealer’s store
A bit like a candy store, if you must know. Despite their low-key approach to displays, I was able to find and purchase pretty much everything on my want list. There were savings, even after calculating the exchange penalty for my Canadian currency. Everything is packed away, and I’ll be better able to see how much I “saved” once we’ve reported to Customs (in the next few days).
My lunch was brisket with mac ‘n cheese; very low tech, and something I want to try in my own kitchen. With that, we were back on the misty highway for another few hours, and added another state. Today, MA to NH to VT. The campground is comfortable/friendly, and we had supper in a modified school bus, with a fresh salad and crab cake. Again, a meal to try at home.
