House coffee wins

posted in food, ham radio, technology |

At home, I am able to pour a cup of good coffee, whenever. However, when out in a restaurant, such a privilege is not apparent. We went for breakfast, just as in other years, and we drank the house coffee. Not much to say, other than that the colour and temperature were correct. The flavor… nope. I guess it keeps me from sitting there for an extended period.

The rest of the table was off to the city. The ECMA season is upon us, and local. In return for $20 and “infinite patience”, tickets are available to certain shows. I did not go. Maybe the next time around (years from now).

Outside, the grey turned quickly to foggy, and our view stopped at the property limits, all afternoon.

And so I looked inward. I came upon a trove of PDF manuals for radios I have around the place, so it was a chance to review documents not often perused. As well, the “mods” are much easier to find on the web, compared to years ago, and I did the “inventory of needs”. Actually, nothing requires change, right now, but I have one transceiver that might benefit from a diode snip. Guess I’d better plug the gadget in and see if it really requires surgery. Some of these hints are aimed at users in foreign markets, where frequency access is different. To be confirmed.

Son #2 forwarded a picture of his broken bike saddle, and all I can do is wonder. Did this happen while rolling, or was the attack something that happened under the shade of a tree, while watching the clouds move by.
