The van has a an addiction
Seems that the new rig has an addiction. A drug called DEF. All of my past experience with auto fuels involved gasoline, and I had the colour codes at the pumps pretty much calculated, to the penny. Now I have to deal with Diesel, and it seems that the environmental arm of government believes in a parallel system. Burn it, exhaust it, clean it and let the smoke fairies deal with the rest. Anyhow, today cost me four gallons of stinky water, and I’ll finish pouring the stuff into a special reservoir with a tiny throat. The bottleneck.
Happily, we’re not on a fixed travel plan. When the winds and rains began, we decided to go for supper before tying down for the night. Very dark; I ended up wandering for awhile before getting back from the cooler/bath house. And don’t forget taking the dog for his constitutional, using an iPhone for illumination. We have other flashlights, and at an early occasion I’m surrendering their inert corpses to a dustbin.
I hear a movie playing in the rear of “the house”. I can either accept to watch the end without seeing the beginning, or I can go back to books. This trip, we’ve had wifi within range, most of the time. Maybe I need some YouTube to clear my mind. In the morning there will be lots of time to don protective gloves and pour some of that fancy exhaust juice in, before unhitching the horse and headind eastward.
For tonight, a new bottle of generic DM from a pharmacy enroute. The cough can give way to deep sleep.
