Take another pill and wait things out
There. After a day of downtime, including laundry, meals, personal hygiene and cold tablets, I can feel this affair that triggers paroxysms of coughing leaving my body. I will wave farewell, enthusiastically.
I did read the news feeds, but nothing stuck. Or maybe I coughed the stories away. With two dogs underfoot, I moved cautiously. No, I don’t intend to double up on hound counts in my life.
We’re trying to decide if we should take the right fork on the highway. Skip the bridge for another few nights and head to Cape Breton for a few of the Celtic Colours concerts. I’d be more apt if the cough bug was gone, but it might come down to a moment of ‘why not’? Only live once, etc. Why, I bet that I would run across some old friends, if I matched the time and place. Wouldn’t that be interesting?
Mind, we still haven’t seen many of our kids .
Any decision to travel also involves the weather forecasts. One of our apps is far too intense, offering preciptation start and stop times. Another is fascinated by the mid-Atlantic dance of another hurricane. I wantvto be home if any heavy weather arrives. Not beside a cliff in a high-sided vehicle.
Someone keeps sending us frost warnings; the fruits of this year’s garden is still on the vine, and it would be good to harvest. We shall see. Maybe the potatoes will be dug… it seems like I have been away from home for ages, rather than a couple of weeks.
