One tablet for each fist, for now

posted in technology, travel |

Discount retail… if nothing else, it gave me the chance to update my iPad Mini. Sure, the saving was less than $20, but I can now attach a travel memory to the event, although the data transfer will require my attention for another while. In passing, what’s with the AppStore removing my preferred web browser. Have to figure out what to do with my file collection and bookmarks, as early as tomorrow.

We’ve been in halt and visit mode for a week, so tomorrow we’re going to get back on the highway. We managed to solve some minor mechanical issues. I also did a drive past the new high school; nothing remains of my alma mater but some yearbooks and a memory of a silly song.

Surprised when some people in the parking lot at my sister’s place stopped to congratulate us, about our fine wheels. I don’t tend to think about other vehicles in that context.

Right now, the heat is on inside, as we prep for sleeping. Before dawn the temperature will drop to a point where even the dog wants to be under cover. We never pushed the limits, back in the time of a nylon dome tent.

Even more grandkiddies in the family circle, today. Don’t believe we have missed anyone. And they are so young that we won’t be remembered. I never met many of my elders… a different generation gap, sixty years ago.

The search for an appropriate nickname for the RV. I have no idea about such things. Like the dog, I am just at home on the road.
