Not about to play solo petanque

posted in politics, travel |

We had to wait for a school bus to arrive, but once the cargo of pupils were clear, we left our safe harbour and returned to the high(way) seas. A full day of travel without incident.

The next stop was meant to be one of pure tourism, but given the late hour, we asked the GPS to locate a local campground. I am unfamiliar with the KOA brand, but for a price, they certainly deliver. We are on the tail end of the season, so I won’t be making use of my included pool privileges, and playing solo petanque is not in view.

However, I did restore an environmental balance to our various holding tanks (also without incident, happily). First time using a carbon water filter, but I had been warned about the initial sooty discharge, so the connection to the reservoir came after the water ran clear. We disconnected our electricity and set off to find a restaurant within our tastes and means.

This is an upscale area, with ski hills in all directions. The “main drag” is architecturally wonderful and the number of menus balances the structural variety. Rich people probably love this destination.

Tonight, I have election returns to follow. No longer my jurisdiction, but my childred are directly affected and appropriately opinionated. Small bursts if wit via chat, all afternoon. I trust they went the extra yard/metre and voted. I have my opinion on who might be the best choice, but as I said: not my circus. The closure of a local bridge in their area (due to neglected repairs) says it all.

And that was short… took only 35 minutes for the decision desk to find for the CAQ.
