A model map
Either the needle was very thin, or my dog has thick skin. He took us along for moral support, this afternoon, while receiving booster shots from the veterinarian. Not a whimper! We were in and out in a matter of minutes, and he’s now off to explore the nearest beach.
I did my part for the common good by signing cheques, this morning, on behalf of a local community group. Injecting funds into the local economy, from my point of view. For the record, I didn’t whimper either (although the cheques aren’t written against my bank account. Makes a difference).
We know that our kids are at least halfway home, after receiving a text message from “Freddy Beach”. Don’t bother checking your atlas. They simply have beaches on the brain, after better than a week of down time on the sand. I hate to think how long they will need to wait for their next vacation.
I think my name is on a list, somewhere. Another call from a local charity, inviting me to participate in a draw for things I don’t need. Not much money involved, and they’ll bring my ticket to me, so there went my available excuses. Hey, who knows? I could win.
A “model map” for a building hurricane comes with some of the best disclaimer text I’ve seen in ages: “Do not use this map to make decisions! Seek official info”
The vet college in the city is getting set to hang a small whale skeleton, “hoping it will be an inspiration to aspiring vet”. This is just a guess, but the animals don’t want to be flayed.
