Raise the grade on their table

posted in food |

Had to get up, last night. Window closure. We had rain, and with the dry summer I notice such things. Of course, with the gentle beat on the windows, I did get back to sleep. All things are good.

This is the day before departure for the kids, and the sun came out, right on schedule. Another beach afternoon. In fact, the intrepid ones in the gang actually crossed the run at the end of the lake. Not any deeper than expected, and none were swept out to sea. For a first experience, it couldn’t be better.

We went out to eat, at one of the better local restaurants. Not my first (or fourth) time, but tonight the meal crossed the line from good to excellent. I don’t know what was changed, but the “grade” just went up a letter on my personal scale.

We were checking into battery replacement options for certain laptops. The dealer doesn’t seem to have figured out the gap between want and delivery, so I’m going back to recommending third party companies. After all, how many compute companies are also OEM on  those expensive bundles of Li-Ion?

Southward, a football player without a contract has become the new standard bearer for equality. He “took a knee” and set off a war of branding. Especially when he scored an advertising gig. Now, the stubborn folks are burning their shoes and chopping their sox and shorts. Logo shock. How long before they figure out the obvious… the logo is already paid for on their stuff, and the ashes won’t deliver much of a message.
