Stopped in a stuff store

posted in computing, technology |

Today I worked on my retail list. In a big city, the specialty stores are there just for people like me: the occasional random shopper.

First on the list, coffee. We decided that given our proximity to our usual bean dealer, we’d head over and pick up the order. Cut the postal part out of the occasion, this time around. As it happened, there was no bulk bag of beans on hand, so we’ll have a pile of 500g to disperse among the other parcels. It also gave us motive to enjoy a properly prepared mugful, before getting back into the crisscrossing the city.

Took a quick detour by our old house. Other than the removal of two cedars in front, no changes noted.

Next on the places to shop: MEC. I didn’t find my rear wheel odometer, but other things left the store with us. When the cashier helps by transporting your treasures to the door, you’ve got too much. Just sayin’.

Son #2 came along for the next leg. One of the really neat stores, with 3-D printers (working and on display). Raspberry Pi AND Arduino stuff, there for the taking/buying. Android TV boxes. UPS units (I was given one for being such a good guy, by my companions). Lots if other cool stuff. Simply put, this was a stuff shop. We also visited the competition, but I was less enthusiastic.

Finally, off to the big mall for a great smoked meat plate, followed by visits to the camera and Apple stores. I showed great restraint…

Ended the day with a quick stop to see son #3. The apartment cat left me strongly affected.
