Here for the meal
Yesterday we partied. Today we eat (ate). Headed back to the big house around noon, and spent the afternoon preparing supper for a possible thirty faces. Haven’t seen the official count, but that sounds about right.
For me, I had plenty of time to play elder with the grand nieces and nephew. Wow! A whole new generation to think about. I didn’t have much contact with my elders, but this is a brave new world.
The dog spent time with my kids during the afternoon, saving him (and me) several hours of controlling temperatures in the car. The dog is starting to despair, having guarded the back seat too many times in the last few days.
There were several models of Bluetooth speakers in use throughout the house, providing ambience that was particular to each section of the house and audience. At one point, we tried multi casting, which caused cacaphony (due to latency issues). I resolve to learn solutions, but it might require the purchase of a second speaker. That’s a good idea, right?
One conversation over supper dealt with the variation in real estate prices from one area to another. What we pay on the east coast for a new home would not go far in the Toronto area. I knew that, sort of, but it was fun to hear another point of view.
Similarly, I brought up my reversed tire issue with my nephew who knows about this sort of thing. I should try to remedy things, but there is no panic required. That’s a relief.
