Back in time with Friends

posted in food, media |

Do you ever wish you could go back in time? Check to see how things were, with old friends, back in the day? What about Friends? This afternoon, thanks to the power of the web, I returned to 1994. Watched the pilot episode of Friends.

Back then, the series wasn’t on my radar. Not sure I ever watched the program, during the first few seasons, because I was too busy with my own life. Now, with close to two decades of time in between, I was curious. Here’s what I learned. The cast of characters was identical from the start to the finish (a decade later). The only real difference is that they all grew older. Seeing how young the whole gang WAS caused a moment of reflection.

Have I aged, too? If I could watch my own series, how would I seem? Can’t do that, of course. Have to rely on anecdotal evidence.

Had a wonderful steak for supper. A nice, thick slab of beef, purchased from the butcher in the new Extra branch of Sobeys. I paid attention to technique and spices and the result was delicious. Tomorrow, back to dry bread. That’s not a joke; I bought a loaf of bread (at the same Sobeys) and now I’m working my way from front to back (toe to heel?) on the package. A bit on the dry side. At least I have coffee as a fallback in those moments.

Waiting, like many others, for Mr. Comey to recollect on his favourite Trump moments, tomorrow.
