First fish of the season
Summer. Is it the sand in your shoes, as you wander the beach? Or the uptick in license plates from the mainland? Perhaps, and this is just my own experience, it’s the food. You see, this is a place where the number of restaurants that are open in directly related to the temperature in the shade. At the first hint of snow, a number of places put the shutters on the windows, clear the patio and then head off to a well-deserved vacation. Leaving the rest of us to forage for ourselves, generally in our kitchens.
