An unsolicited referral
Today, an informal conversation took an unexpected turn. To my advantage, I have to add. For the past year (almost), I’ve had to accept that access to a new ophthalmologist might prove challenging. I decided “to beard the lion in his den”, so to speak, and showed up in the office of a local specialist. Of course, there’s always a gatekeeper: think school secretary, for a similar approach to the world. I presented my case, and she gave her rebuttal. No entrance to the inner circle without a referral…
