Signs of impending construction
First, I noticed the lines and letters painted on the road surface in spray paint. G, for gas. H, for hydro. Then, the cones and barriers went up, narrowing the traffic flow. Then the glass walls of my bus shelter disappeared. Today, the whole metal framework was missing, leaving some red plastic tape marked “Danger”, and an impending sense of doom. Oh, and no shelter from the rain, but that’s part of the life of a transit traveler.
