Bias in the broadcast
My timetable is out of sync with the broadcast world. The Olympic opening started while I was at work, but I never had any doubt that there would be retransmissions throughout the rest of the day. Here’s the catch. The American network (who hold the rights) are sending out their version of things. I can’t handle the bias. Not the sweaters, or the flags, or the vague patriotic references. I want to see things through apolitical eyes, and that is going to be more difficult that imagined. Maybe I’ll just imagine the ceremonies, and wait for the next time. As they say, “Four more years”.
