Sort of fixing

posted in Uncategorized |

Our brains have evolved, to the point where we can get the meat out of a nutshell without damaging the food or our hands. Magic, from the viewpoint of some other species. And we also have learned to transfer simple skills to new situations.

Today, I had to solve a new puzzle. How to adjust the lumbar support on a car seat.  Bear with me, because this is not a linear solution. I had already found the correct direction of travel from the other seat, and I was patient. After checking the knob on the side of the seat, I decided that it was similar in diameter to the cover of a dill pickle jar.  In the house, I  borrowed a  big glove made from that material that is used for oven mitts.  Silicone. It might not be apparent, but I needed to keep my fingers from slipping while twisting the seat knob. And by applying just the right amount of torque to the knob, my problem was solved. No need to disassemble the seat.

I wish every problem was as easy to solve.

And if you wondered, no I did not eat a dill pickle during the adventure.  I just want to be able to adjust my lumbar support, whatever that is, and I can. On to new tasks.

The sterilization of the water tank continues, and an afternoon off. By tomorrow, we will be able to consider a night of camping. Again, non-linear thought process. I could just do like the average camper and get a two-four, but I like my water tasteless. The new water filter has not been delivered, but my well is clean.

I had already found the correct direction of travel from the other seat, and I was patient.
