Your kits are here

posted in Uncategorized |

Just wondering. Is anyone in he area missing their family of kits. No, not kids. This is not about goats. Foxes. The red haired variety, that bark in a funny voice, and sit by the trees looking fetching. No, they do not fetch. They retrieve, but only if the dog loses a biscuit. Then, they are fetching.

I have some squirrels that are trying to make  themselves comfortable under the genny, even though the noise and heat are too much. I hope that my new family of foxes will decide to go hunter and gatherer. Hunt for those mice with big tails, and then gather the bounty.

Actually, the foxes (not my foxes) are very polite. Yes, I have been barked at, but that is just a plea for more food. Think Oliver Twist.  And gruel is not on the list of preferred menu items. Right now, the birds are in a competition for seeds, because mice are too much work for the red heads, so they raid the seed dispensers. The birds are peeved.

I wonder if I could post some photos, and see if anyone recognizes their faces. Cute, but lazy. Willing to sit and watch the windows for hours, as if I was presenting a novel play for their entertainment.

At least I don’t have to guard my hen-house. That would be far too much effort, given that I do not actually eat many eggs. The foxes, in comparison, are only too happy to make sure we don’t have a need to produce extra quiche or omelettes.
