Going forward, will a certain moment in American media be considered as news or entertainment? Unsure. Last week, one of the larger firms in the media firmament received a hefty rebuke from the courts. As in, the largest monetary rebuke in history. No need to go into the why, right now. And those in the limelight were careful to pretend that this was business as usual.
Until the end of programming for the evening. At that point, the on air personality bid a cheery good evening to his audience, and reminded them to turn in next week for more of the same. Again, business as usual.

Within the hour, there had been a press release, where the corporation announced that they and the personality had mutually decided to put an end to their relationship. Short. Succinct. No fond goodbye to the listener. And with that, the wheels fall off the bus, for one very rich man. Both as rich as his former employer, but that is a detail.
I have to wonder what happened. No, I do not, actually, because the story is out there. When you force the employer to pay money for your efforts, you move from the asset to the liability column.
Fun to watch, is it not. Fame is so fleeting, in media. And now we all wonder where the star will fall. Not to ground, because nothing is real here. But, will he run for higher office? Maybe. Stay tuned, to a different network, to find out the conclusion to the tale.
