Mud games
All that I know about getting stuck comes from a couple of silly moments in a car. On a flat driveway. Guess I haven’t driven enough. However, knowledge is power, so I am watching videos on how to get stuck. In the sand. In the mud. On a hill. Useful stuff, even if I have no intention of driving anywhere, ever.
The videos tend to separate vehicles by their drive type; front, rear, all wheel. And they all seem to end the same way. Either you figure things out, by trial and error. My takeaway is that we pave roads for a good reason. If you can get mired to the axles, you will. Karma for drivers.
Never had those problems with my bicycle. I stayed out of the mud, and off the beaches, and if things got bad, I had an impressive shoulder lift technique. With cars and trucks, that doesn’t jump up as a possibility. Also, when I got around on a city bus, I never had any worries. Good times, right.
I will continue to watch my latest thread of video content, with the firm intention of giving second hand advice to others. Remember, my driving days are done. Just as an aside, I will not be getting a tractor as a travel companion, so it is best for me to learn about how to spot slippy going. I am fortunate that we don’t have a mud lane (planned in advance for that one). We have friends that keep the number of the tractor guy on speed dial. Popular fellow, as spring stirs.
