Cool and clear. And wet.
How do you prefer your water? Let’s screen out the smarties; wet is not a great answer. Acceptable, but we can do better. I want to focus on “potable”, so cold and clean are a baseline. There are so many options, when it comes time to clean up. The cold is actually easy, right now.
First of all, to the tester that used the family dog as barometer… let’s consider that one. My dog is good with ditch water, and those strategically placed porcelain drinking fountains around the house show that standards are sketchy. Yes, I have well water, so the chlorine aftertaste isn’t an issue, either. Back to the filtration science.
For anyone who is interested, there is a huge industry devoted to filtering your water. Even at the camper level. We are shopping, and the cargo space in the rig is the deciding factor. But there’s a hitch. Out there, in the real world, there are lies and advertising. It goes deep. When a company claims that their particular technology has been tested to “several thousand gallons”, go with the idea that their story is probably a fabrication.
I have good water, here at home, but if my next “source” is a sketchy faucet on the back wall of a gas station, way off the beaten track, I may want to filter my cold and clear. Not just may, will. My body my choice. And the dog is guilty of not caring much. We haven’t bought anything, yet. We will. And I hope I won’t die from my adventures.
