Others do actual winter

posted in Uncategorized |

Is it illusion, or delusion? I go through lifem not having seen much of the world except through media. I have this great belief that we live in a land where winter is major. We dress accordingly, and plan our lives after consulting the weather forecast. Keep an eye on what might be next. In reality, the winter locally is very easy. Even the hares don’t always get their fur change done. The birds don’t all go south.

Watching a video from the south, and I stand amazed. Campers in FL, with frozen water tanks. People in UT, with big plows on their rigs, waiting for snow drops that get waist-deep. We don’t do things like that, here.

Oh well. One more proof that I live in a great place.

Today is a “poor vision” day, where reading text onscreen is tricky. Maybe tomorrow will be better. Yes, I am technically an optimist. The roof people are supposed to stop by in the moring to  retack a few more shingles. My plan? To accept what happens as normal, while filled with hope that after a few hundred more nails, our roof will be back to where we started. Apparently the life of a shingle roof is measured in wind gusts.

Other than that (what?), we are through anouther day in the life. The new year seems to be much like the last one, although that might change. Supper was a new product in the local grocery: shaved beef. Add gravy and rice, and consider the meal to be a success. I did not share with “his hairyness”, so there is no othe ropinion available.
