Not on the road, this time
Np travel for us, this year. I still check on places that we could have gone. Franikly, we made a sane choice.
Where the kids are, the lights are on and then off again. With it, the heat. I agree, the dogs have to be kept warm, but isn’t that their job? Also, cooking is tricky when the stove is cold. Workds for ice cream sandwiches, but not much else.
Heading west, toward Toronto, the blizzard has been running for over three days. Nothing else. When the #401 is closed from Osawa east to Conrwall, the travel plans get derailed. Trains, too. I’m not citing any incidents, but delays of more than a day on the mainline are not great for someone that is “homeward bound”. Sing along, if you must.
I saw some photos of significant show drops in the snow belt, and I know of at least one dog that won’ go outside until his preferred corner gets some careful shovel work. Even the hound will protest when the feet don’t touch bottom in a drift.
Yes, here we are doing a “green” holiday, although that might change. Apparently storms come from west to east up here in the north. Remember, if you don’t need to be on the road, don’t be. The lognt are on, and the oven is warm. Next detail, choosing an appropriate seasonal menu. Leftovers are not an option. We had some meat pie donated by a friend, and it was good. Check back later for today’s Yelp.
I guess the visitor count will remain at zero. Even if it isn’t storming outside.
