All the usual comforts of home
A special thankyou to Buddy and friends in their big truck. Over from the Rock. They did some quick magic j ust before lunch (their time zone) and by the time I was ready for a meal (in my time zone), we had lights and running water and the ‘net. Just like before. Yes, I realize that we were away from civilzed living for only a few days (going on nine, if one is counting) but it felt as if we had fallen into a deep hole and come out in that time before my birth. Photos in colour presented as proof.
Now what? I have to take a pause and catch up on the news, and get the weather station back online. My clothes still fit, and the dog still barks at phantoms. We lost no food, essentially, unless you quibble about a cinnbun that went stale due to being ignored. I have a renewed appreciation for hummus with tiny bread pieces.W
Anything else? Not that I can tell. The Titan has done double duty, keeping gadgets charged and the freezer cold. The recharge has been tasked to solar power, because I can’t pass up on the chance for some free as in sunlight energy. Also, putting the panels away is more work than I want to do, right now. Perhaps after supper, when I am sure that the grid is stable. Never can tell, right? I have no big travel plans, as we slide into autumn. The kids are all busy.
I wonder what has been going on, elsewhere? Did anyone have a hurricane roll through to prove just how fragile and unperpared we are, for the most part? I will continue to check the probs.
