Remote accounting
As the first sign of dawn approached, I bid son #3 goodnight, and closed the computer. I had dodged my own “taxation stress”, but until his paperwork was filed I still had to play the game. We did this via a chat app. A first, for me; remote accounting.
The first sounds of spring, in the country: tractors and whatnot, two field over. The dog knew he should bark, but couldn’t see the source. Hard to be a watchdog.
In the city, a speaking visit from Diana Gabaldon. My first copy of an Outlander was purchased about two decades back, in a book rack at some service station in central Ontario. I’ve been a believer, through the next dozen or so book since that time. She’s in the area to do some research toward a future volume that could see “my Island” as a place in the evolving story. Exciting, in a bookworm way. I caught both the radio and TV interviews, this afternoon.
Had to flash the SD card for my AIS receiver, again. This time, the fault lies with the card itself; I should get some extra chips, the next time they’re on sale in the city. The unit is, essentially, a Raspberry Pi in a custom case. Makes me think that the hardware doesn’t “like” unscheduled power failures. With other units around the place, media replacement is inevitable.
A lot of chatter on the TV about this being the anniversary of the Fort Mac Fire. A year, already? As long as there isn’t a repeat performance.
