All filed away
I should know better than that: reading a great food blog, on an empty stomach. The article, which deals with iconic foods in the area, has me wanting more than I can find in an empty fridge. Imagine spending the day in local restaurants, and then taking the nearest ferry and repeating the routine (tomorrow) as you make your way eastward to yet another ferry. Then, spending a few more days (on the Rock). Sounds like a plan for summer. Oh yes, the blog address: www.eatthistown.ca
Beyond the nod to a non-diet, this has been a good day. Lowered my overall stress level, by filing our tax returns (that’s the correct pronoun, as I joint file). Even if I owe money, the penalty clause for a late return is now off the table for another year. As well, my bike now has two road tires installed: the resistance trainer is stowed away until winter returns. Don’t get all fidgety; I still haven’t opened the barn door and sallied forth, but my reasons not to do so are eroding.
My genealogy database crossed the sixty-four thousand name point, this afternoon. I realize that if you aren’t in there (yet) this doesn’t mean much. However, when I hit my first thousand mark (back about twenty-five years ago), I thought I had my world in a corral. I now know that every day brings a new detail. If it wasn’t for the computer, I would not know who I am, or where I come from. Pretty important details, in the larger scale of things.
