A plus to procrastination
When it comes to getting certain things done, I’m not always proactive. In particular, service on the car. I don’t let that “service due soon” flag interrupt my calm nature. Oil changes are for the next visit to see my local garage guy. Getting the tires changed; sometimes, it pays to be late. This morning, we had a fresh new cover of snow, all around. If I’d changed over to summer rubber, that could have been problematic.
Of course, just over twelve hours later, everything has melted. My winter tires are at risk of doing something similar, I’ve been told, so the next garage visit will be soon. I promise.
Completed (as much as I can) another of my “ten generations of ancestry” for someone in the extended family. When working with the records from Quebec, all I really need is to pay attention to my typing. The “grunt work”, where actual handwritten records are in play, is already done (by legions of other scribes). I’m now just working on a plowed field.
Based on a recommendation (from a Twitter feed), I started to watch an old movie via YouTube. There are a lot of false leads: people who actually want you to use their revenue-generating sites. Finally, I stumbled across someone who had uploaded the movie – in ten minute slices. Going to distract from the continuity, but I’m game. Fits in well with my start-and-stop approach to dated cinema. Mind you, I’d be shy about sharing the viewing experience with others. Let them find their own copy.
