We still have potatoes
After watching too many episodes of Two and a Half Men, I have a soft spot for Melanie Lynskey, aka Rose. She doesn’t do normal. Caught her latest movie, in the streams: I Don’t Feel At Home In The World Anymore. Glad I did. Ninety minutes in an alternate reality; my own life seems very comfortable, and comforting in retrospect.
Not much else going on out there. Hockey (which I don’t watch, but which seems very important to others) has knocked the two original Canadian teams to the side of the rink, for another year. Takes much of the stress out of social moments, when you’re unsure if you are talking nicely about a particular jersey colour.
Meanwhile, the word is out on Reuters that the US Senate is going to attend a briefing about the Korean situation with the Prez. Or as we imagine the briefing, where he tells them, over and over again, that he won the election. Sigh…
I see that son #2 is across the border, right now. It’s a positive sign, that he was actually able to gain entry. I’m not sure that getting through into Never-neverland is a given any more. I’m staying home for the foreseeable future. With Streetview, I’m not so apt to find amazement in a foreign land. At least, not that one.
Besides, if the world goes crazy, we still have potatoes. With some boiling water, I won’t starve. And as for a shortage of coffee… no, let’s not get all negative just yet.
