Blowing in every direction
Tonight, I did a factory reset on my cellphone. Put the ducks back in a row, etc. Given that I closed out my contract going on two years ago, it seemed like a logical step. Now I can experiment with all the cool options; might even go for a jailbreak and an alternate operating system. Or not. No rush in my world. I would like to “unlock” the device, given that it belongs to me. Not sure why the last carrier believes I owe loyalty.
The wind continues to blow, moving a thin layer of fine powdered snow in every direction. Seriously. I checked the anemometer record, and we’ve covered the whole compass rose in the last couple of hours. Wild swings in speed along with direction. When asked “which way is it blowing?”, my answer was inconclusive.
Had to put the compost out; came in covered in snow. A gust from the right quadrant just as I lifted the lid (which upset gravity). Rather funny, actually. I also noted that the dog is uncomfortable with getting a full-cover massage when he is otherwise busy.
At least there’s no ice in the strait. With almost two months to go before “setting day”, that removes another variable from the fisher equation. Meanwhile, getting into the city will have to wait for warmer times. Reports on road visibility are favouring that I stay close to home.
Curling is back on TV. This time, the men’s Briar, from St. John’s. Almost as much fun to watch as the Scotties.
