Two much to watch
Oscar evening really requires two television sets… when the timing puts the show in competition with the Scotties final. The hotel room remote requires patience in getting from one channel to the other. I’m missing important stones, after deciding to watch the real star of Hidden Figures being brought onstage.
I left the room today, three times, for food and coffee pod runs. Left the dog surprised by the sudden return of wintery walking. Among my menu highlights: Ashton and a Lebanese plate. Both a change of pace, neither exceptional. And the pods were an upgrade from those offered by the hotel, on my dime.
The Oscars? Too early in the evening to detect a trend. Fortunately I recognize all of the titles, and my movie playlist will be adapted in consequence.
The curling championship? Ditto, even if I’m heavily biased. Should the gold go to the other team, I’ll accept my lot (as a viewer). Still, the season is far from over, and I’d prefer to watch the Homan rink do what they do so well. Is “surgical precision” something we usually say in describing stones slipping over pebble?
Tomorrow, we’ll be back on the return side of our whirlwind tour. Speaking of tours, I understand that the Hay Babies are here in the building. I refuse to wait in the hall like a groupie, but if I happened to share the elevator, an autograph might be in order. Relative fame, etc.
I also did some shopping at MEC. Lots of shiny stuff in there.
Fast forward, and Rachel and Emma and Joanne and Lisa have won their game, in overtime.
