Is it storm chip time, yet?
Too quiet. Pretty much the whole Island is waiting on a big snow storm, due to begin between now and bedtime. From social media, the reports are that snow chips are on counters through the land. Those that fear a dry spell have filled the tub with water. Shovels are close at hand. And now we wait.
We were out, this morning. Parked the car with watchdog and went for breakfast. Shopped for spinach; none available. Admired the charm of bare roads and fields, given that January is already a week spent. Engaged in supposition about tomorrow, knowing full well that we won’t be out on an inspection tour.
I tried to reset a Mac password for a table mate in the restaurant. Lost cause without web access. The speed of the machine has reopened negotiation on upgrades to SSD, though. I mean, the PC will be done early next week when my cable is delivered, so we might as well support the “other” OS.
I found a new SDR software package to play with. Support for RTL-SDR is included, so I can play with stuff from the gear pile. I’d love to explore UHF, but there doesn’t seem to be much activity. Maybe a better antenna. Which reminds me; I have to see if there is any local TV signal around here.
Anyhow, the evening is sliding slowly by. Time to get into my storm chip reserves, and sit back and relax. There must be something I can share with the dog, as his favourite food is invariably whatever I’m enjoying.
