Irrational fear
There you go. Send in the winds and snow. After all, there is nowhere to go, even if the urge came upon me.
No, for real. That irrational fear of “not having a white Xmas” was resolved. Outside, just nasty. Inside, just a sense of calm. Enough food to satisfy our needs. Warm floors. A selection of carefully chosen gifts. All in all, a holiday for two plus dog.
This afternoon, after a few minutes of “I wonder if…?”, I finally succeeded in streaming from my laptop to the TV. We’ve been doing such things according to the rukes of Apple, but with the addition of Roku on the living room screen, I wanted to up my game. Turns out that the answer is called Plex, the antithesis of “complex” and without a need to “perplex” the user.
After a small download of free software, I started a media server on the PC. Over in my Roku world, an channel add. Five miutes later, a great movie experience that didn’t require Netflix (the standard solution to the “what should we watch?” query).
What else, in the outside world? Oh, right, I don’t know. Bad weather, etc. I’ve checked the Boxing Day flyers, just in case, but nothing that requires additional purchasing power.
Recently, I had an issue with the sump levels. The return of warmer weather melted my hose blockage, and I shouldn’t need to worry again before spring. Saves bailing.
Now, what to do until bedtime? Should I call a friend?
