Seasonable photo op
The song begins “It’s beginning to look a lot like” and before I can finish the phrase, the response was heard. “Time to take a family photo”. So many people that haven’t seen (or heard from) us in months, now that we’re metamorphosing into country folk.
Anyhow, despite the blowing snow, we were tasked. I had to put on clean clothes and comb my hair. Don a scarf. The dog got off easy; he just needed his leash. Somewhere close to midday, I warmed up the car, and before things could get covered over (again) with snow, we drove about a half kilometer up the road to the neighbour’s place. After all, when in the family photo mood, two-for-one is a good way to save.
The dog, of course, was excited. A trip in the car without the usual “You wait in the car”. A chance to explore. Unmarked territory. All that a canine spirit could want. Me? I agreed to try and smile while we hid the trees and filled our pockets with frozen bits of moisture. Yes, that means snowflakes. The picture taking was over (at least, my share) in a matter of minutes, and the dog and I were free to head home (carefully avoiding getting stuck in the lane entry).
I did see previews of the pics; the real deal, corrected for cosmetic flaws, will be ready soon. Meanwhile, the snow continued (and will for at least another day). Already up to my knees, out back. Good thing we didn’t delay the photo op, given the short stature of the tailed one.
